Chef Tara Weavers Bio

Tara Weaver moved to Austin in 1997 to attend the University of Texas.  She studied fine arts and social work, but ultimately decided that a culinary career was a better suited choice.  She attended the Texas Culinary Academy, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2005.  After working at a couple of restaurants, Tara decided to use her husband's contacts in the film industry to expand her field to personal catering.  She is credited in the films "Drop Dead Sexy" and "Scanner Darkly" as the personal chef to Crispin Glover and Woody Harelson, respectively.  She has catered private events for Richard Linklater, Jason Lee, Marcia Gay Hardin, Keanu Reeves, Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong.  Using this experience, Tara proceeded to take the position of Executive Chef on a private train car that traveled across the continental United States.  Her trips on the train, took her to the Kentucky Derby, the Grand Canyon, and along as the head chef for Barry Mannilow.

Returning to Austin, Tara decided to continue her personal catering and also enjoys teaching culinary classes to willing students in private kitchen settings.  She currently works part time at Williams-Sonoma.
